March 18-22

This week the letter of the week was Yy-yellow-/y/. The words of the week were he, she, yellow and yes. We talked about words that started with the letter Yy and learned to print our new letter and words. The theme was Farm.

In Language we learned about and used farm animals to practice ABC order.  We made a class book using riddles give clues about which animal could be on the farm. For journals, the students wrote a story about an animal from the farm.

In Math we continued to practice addition and 3D shapes. All of the children are doing very well with these concepts.

In Science and Social Studies, we learned about animals and their babies. Each child got to make his/her own book to match an animal with the correct baby. It was also fun to have some farmer friends come in to visit and teach us tons of stuff about their farms!!

Next week will be a review of the letter Ee-/Ed/-e and the words on our word wall. The theme will be Easter. Please remember, there is no school on Friday, March 29, due to Good Friday and Easter Break. School for students will resume on Wednesday, April 3.
