May 20-24

The theme this week was graduation. We prepared songs and projects for Friday's big ceremony.

In Language we continued to review all of our letters and words. The class made a book about ABC's under the sea to review words from the whole alphabet. For journals, each child wrote sentences about other friends from class. We also said goodbye to Mrs. Finkler who has volunteered her time to help during our journals time this year.

In Math the students continued to practice with addition, subtraction, counting, comparing, estimation and prediction. We want to make sure our skills are staying sharp!

In Science and Social Studies we talked about swimming safety. Can your child remember some rules for staying safe while swimming this summer? Also, we learned about Memorial Day and why it is such a special holiday.

Next week the theme will be Welcome Summer! Remember, there will be no school on Monday, May 27 due to Memorial Day. On Wednesday, our class will be taking a walking field trip to the Public Library. On Friday, we have a Field Day with our 6th Grade Big Buddies @ the MASH track.
