This week was a short week. The letter of the week was Ww-wind-/w/, and the words of the week were was and white. The theme was weather.
In Language the class learned to print our new letter and words, and got to think of many words that begin with Ww. For journals, everyone was granted a wish from a wishing well. What did your child wish for?
In Math the students were assessed on printing numerals through 30. Many children were proud of how high they could print their numbers! If you see your child printing numbers in reverse order (i.e. 81 instead of 18) please help him/her correct that error.
In Science and Social Studies, we learned about weather. The class made a weather book and talked about how weather can change from day to day and throughout the year. We also got to make a book about the signs of spring. What signs of spring can your Kindergartner spot outside?
Next week the letter of the week will be Rr-rat-/r/, and the words will be here and red. The theme will be seeds and planting.
