Field Trip to Al's Family Trees

The Kindergartners had a great time visiting Al's Family Trees on Thursday. We learned all about the equipment Mrs. Handel and her family use to take care of their trees. Ask your child if he/she can remember what she does to get the trees shaped just right.

We were able to pick out our own Christmas tree, cut it down, and take it back to our classroom. Can your Kindergartner remember how old our tree is? How did we find out? Since receiving our tree we have been working hard making ornaments to decorate it.

If your family is looking for a great place to cut your own Christmas tree this year, Al's Family Trees on Grahl Drive is a great place! See below for pictures from our field trip. Thank you to Mrs. Handel for teaching us so many things about the Christmas tree farm!

Mrs. Handel has many tools to take care of her Christmas trees

When the trees are still really small, she digs holes with her shovel to plant them
Mrs. Handel can use this tool to reach up high and give her trees a hair cut

She helped cut our tree down with a hand saw

We all used our muscles to carry the tree out of the field!
